RPL for Temporary Traffic Management
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Overview
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an assessment pathway that allows individuals to have their existing skills, knowledge, and experience formally recognised. RPL considers competencies gained through a combination of:
-
Formal learning (such as qualifications or structured training)
-
Informal and non-formal learning (workshops, short courses, or on-the-job training)
-
Work experience
-
Life experience or community involvement
The purpose of RPL is to determine whether your current capabilities meet the requirements of one or more units of competency within the Skill Set for which you are seeking recognition.
Key Requirements for RPL of TTM
-
Current Evidence: The evidence you provide must reflect your current competency. This means you must be actively working, or have worked within the past 12 months, in the relevant role on the specific Category roads.
-
WZTM Ticket Holders: Workers holding current WZTM tickets must complete their RPL application by 1st February 2027.
-
Learner Entry Requirements: Applicants must meet the entry requirements listed in the relevant Skill Set prior to applying for RPL.
RPL provides a flexible pathway for experienced workers to gain formal recognition for the skills and knowledge they already possess, reducing the need for additional training while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
