Entry Requirement

• Completion of RIISS00058 Traffic Controller Skill Set for Urban Streets and Low Volume Rural Roads (TC1 Skill Set)

• ·Completion of the RIISS00060 Traffic Management Implementer Skill Set for Urban Streets and Low Volume Rural Roads (TMI 1 Skill Set)

• At least 40 hours of experience working in a temporary traffic management workplace in a traffic controller role.

• At least one month experience applying skills and knowledge relevant to the TMI 1 skill set in a temporary traffic management workplace

• Provide evidence of relevant experience setting up at least 12 temporary traffic management types including high speed roads or high-volume roads, and at least two of the following types:

  • pedestrian and cyclist controls

  • construction sites

  • lane closures

  • shoulder closures

  • night works

  • use of portable traffic control devices

  • motorways or freeways

The student requires a placement with an approved traffic management company to achieve the practical outcomes of the course, please contact us if you are unable to arrange this so we can assist.

Course Description TTM (Temporary traffic management)

TTM Category 2 Roads - comprises anything not in Category 1 or 3, or

• Any signalised intersection (work within 100m), or

• Multiple lanes in a single direction (excluding overtaking and turn lanes).

TC2 (Traffic Controller) – High Volume Roads
This is a 1-day program ​​

TMI2 (Traffic Management Implementer) – High Volume Roads

This is a 1-day program comprising both practical and theory components.​

On Completion the Student will obtain the following Skillsets and Units of Competency

RIISS00059 - Traffic Controller Skill Set for High Volume Roads

• RIIWHS207 Control traffic on high volume roads.

RIISS00061 - Traffic Management Implementer Skill Set for High Volume Roads

• RIIBEF301D Run on-site operations

• RIIWHS304 Implement traffic management plans on high volume roads.

Successful persons will be issued with a temporary card, and be eligible for the SA Department of Infrastructure and Transport traffic management card for CAT 1 Roads
